Locking Horns Over Electric Cars

Dan Gross and Charles Lane are having a little impromptu debate at Slate, about the business/policy case for electric cars. I think they're confusing the vision behind a car like the Chevy Volt with the different vision that's, um, driving various alternative mobility subsidies, but read the exchange of views, as well as Gross' earlier column about EVs eventually costing less than they do now, and judge for yourself. (For the record, I don't think the Volt, at $41,ooo base, costs too much, but I also think that there should be more tax credits available to make it cheaper.)
